Our Story
Welcome to Terah Gardens, a haven where passion for nature, health, and community flourishes into a greener and more sustainable future. Founded by Jordan VanWyk, Terah Gardens is a testament to the power of dedication, knowledge, and love for our planet. Our mission is to create a world where every life has access to clean water, organic food, and kind, loving relationships. We achieve this by educating and empowering individuals and communities through sustainable gardening practices, edible landscapes, and the promotion of regenerative agriculture.
Jordan VanWyk’s journey began in 2012 when he received a vision of the Terah Gardens logo during a prayer for a better world. This divine inspiration ignited a deep desire within him to make a positive impact on the environment and the lives of those around him.
Fueled by this newfound purpose, Jordan pursued an extensive education in personal fitness training, sports nutrition, endocrinology, immunology, and anthropology. However, his clients struggled to find local and affordable nutritious ingredients for a healthy diet. This is when he discovered a special gift and passion for gardening.
Jordan’s commitment to his vision led him to sell everything in his house to attend an extensive permaculture training in Missouri. There, he learned about sculpting the land, caring for animals, and understanding current systems to bridge disconnections for the betterment of all beings.
Applying his expertise, Jordan became a produce manager and taught regenerative growing techniques, ecology, and master gardening. He founded Terah Gardens in Michigan.
Eventually, Jordan moved to Englewood, Florida, where he managed a 3-acre food forest and establish Terah Gardens in the Sunshine State. He connected with many people, which led him to Saint Petersburg where he would meet his wife, Leelah. Alongside his wife, who shares a passion for edible landscaping and butterflies, Jordan continues to learn about different USDA grow zones and plant varieties from around the world.
We envision a future where every person has the opportunity to live a healthy, fulfilling life, supported by a strong network of kind, caring relationships. By teaching others how to care for themselves, their communities, and the planet, we are planting the seeds for a brighter, more sustainable future.
